Caddo
Lake Nature Photography Workshop Caddo Lake State Park has the only natural lake in Texas. It's been called "the best photo spot in Texas." In the fall there's great color, early morning mist on the water and of course cypress trees covered with hanging moss. Best of all, it's only 3 hours away! Join us for a fun weekend of photography, good food and creative inspiration at this beautiful Texas resource. We'll meet Friday evening in the State Park to discuss the weekend's schedule. Saturday morning photos at sunrise, then we'll sit down to one of Dianne's famous breakfast spreads. Afterwards, we'll explore the park and the nearby town of Jefferson with our cameras. Lunch on your own. 4:00 Saturday afternoon we'll board the steamboat Graceful Ghost in Uncertain, Texas for a guided tour of Caddo Lake. Dinner together in the park. Breakfast together on Sunday morning, then explore the nature trails in the park and in the town of Uncertain (pop. 150).
Caddo Lake State Park is 3 hours east of Dallas, just north of Marshall, Texas. For family members there is fishing or shopping, with canoe or john boats available in the park and in Uncertain, and terrific shopping in Jefferson, just 30 minutes away. For the gamblers, Shreveport is only an hour away. Workshop includes park fees, boat tour and 3 meals. Non-photographing family members may join the group by paying the materials fee. Lodging is available in the State Park, Uncertain and Marshall, Texas. The Holiday Inn Express in Marshall is giving us a special rate of $89 when you tell them you're with the Creative Arts Center group.
